The Magic of Myth

An online exhibition about the previous episodes, by the National US Air
and Space Museum. A very interesting unit, with sound, texts and pictures.

évaluation

un texte long et complet vient de paraitre au BO donnant les orientation
nationales de l'évaluation en 2002-2003. Ce texte distingue les évaluation
diagnostiques telles que nous les connaissions, qui seront maintenant en
CE2, 6ème et (c'est nouveau) 5ème; et les évaluations bilans, qui auront
leiu de fin de primaire et de collège, en fin d'année (juin 2003). Vous y
trouverez des indications pour tous les niveaux. et n'hésitez pas à
utiliser la fonction "chercher" si vous avez besoin d'autres textes de
référence, comme les programmes par exemple.
Par ailleurs, le texte conseille aussi l'utilisation de la banque d'outils
nationale ( voir n°155 d'Infonews) pour vous aider à réaliser des
évaluations diagnostiques de vos élèves, mais à votre rythme.
théoriquement, ces diagnostiques vont aussi vous permettre de travailler
avec vos collègues de la même matière et aussi en interdisciplinarité.

Notez que cette année, l'évaluation à l'entrée de seconde est
officiellement supprimée (c'est dans le texte) et remplacée par les
évaluations bilans en fin de primaire et collège.

TPE

Généralisation des TPE en terminale. Les élèves pourront le choisir comme
matière à option, et dans ce cas seuls les points au dessus de la moyenne
compteront. Pour mieux valoriser l'effort des élèves, cette première option
sera portée à coefficient 2. Par soucis d'équité, ce changement de
coefficient pour la première option sera valable quelle que soit l'option
choisie, ce qui revalorise en même temps le choix d'une langue en option.
Une année de sursis est accordée aux établissements qui ne pourraient pas
mettre en oeuvre les TPE en 2002-2003 pour des raisons matérielles. Mais
ces problèmes devront être résolus en 2003-2004 où cela deviendra obligatoire.
Il est conseillé de mettre en oeuvre les TPE de terminales sur la période
septembre à février, et ceux de première de janvier à mai, afin que les
élèves de terminale ssoient libérés pour la préparation finale du bac, et
que les deux groupes n'occupent pas en même temps les salles informatiques,
entre autre....

For those who like interactive games, here is one for upper secondary
school students. It is close to "Sym City" that they enjoy a lot, but it is
free. the players have to organise and run their company, and, according to
the choices they make, the company will become rich...or go bankrupt. This
game will be especially useful to all type of students studying economics.

Yves found out for us this super site presenting ads that can be found in
newspapers. The site offers "vintage paper collectibles that include:
articles, advertisements, books, magazines, sheet music and beautiful
handcrafted envelopes made from quality magazine pages". Of course, we are
supposed to buy and not reproduce them, but we can show them to our
students. You will find the famous "Joe Camel" and all the Marlboro cowboy
ads, that you can contrast with the spoof ads from Adbusters....
This material can be used at all levels, from primary school to university.

at any level.

des enseignants d'Angoulême ont produit à l'aide de Hot Potatoes une
impressionnante série d'exercices interactifs auto-correctifs. Cette banque
peut permettre à des élèves dès la 4ème de revoir ou manipuler divers
points de grammaire. Le site est en français, et cela peut aider des élèves
en difficulté à ne pas bloquer dès la consigne.
