"A La Une" this week : discover a flash parody of Matrix "to end the
destructive and dangerous practices of factory farming and to promote
sustainable agriculture" and ready to use interactive exercises.
Thursday November 27th will be Thanksgiving in the USA : you will find here
several sites to help you deal with it in class. Then, find several
addresses and lessons about stereotypes, resources for primary school,
lower and upper secondary school, two sites about pronunciation for
advanced students, two sites about geography (parfait pour des profs de
DNL), and 5 addresses to reflect about assessment in "teaching practice".
Next Sunday, there will be no Infonews.
practice")
Have a nice week!

The Meatrix
-----------------
This is what cooperation is on e-teach : Celine Roos discovered the site,
and Annie Gwynn designed a page and some interactive exercises. Now it is
all online, and ready for you to use in class:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/annie.gwynn/meatrix.htm
This activity will be excellent for upper secondary school students.
It is based on the online clip called : "the Meatrix"
http://www.themeatrix.com
Here is the comment you can read on the site:
"The Meatrix is a product of the first-ever Free Range Flash Activism
Grant. In February of 2003, Free Range, a cutting-edge design company,
invited hundreds of non-profit organizations to apply for free production
of a Flash movie. After carefully reviewing more than 50 applications, the
grant was awarded to GRACE (Global Resource Action Center for the
Environment). GRACE works to end the destructive and dangerous practices of
factory farming and to promote sustainable agriculture - a goal close to
Free Range's heart. Reform of the farming industry would mean significant
gains in many of the areas Free Range fights for: health, food safety,
economic justice, workers' rights, environmental integrity and animal rights."

It is a parody of the film "the Matrix", used to make people aware of
animal cruelty in factory farming, of how they pollute the environment, and
to make people think before they buy meat. For more information, you can
also see the site featured at the end of the clip:
http://www.themeatrix.com/action/
with links to : "sustainable table" and other sites to raise people's
awareness....

Assignment and sites to visit
-----------------------
Thursday November 27th will be Thanksgiving in the USA. I made a page for
my students about this : you will find an assignment and a list of sites to
visit, featuring the festivities, the traditions, the first Thanksgiving
seen by the Pilgrims and by the native Americans, and recipes for this
special meal. My students visit the sites, take notes on their copy book,
and then put their findings together orally in class.

Here are some other sites offering various activities:

ETNI elementary is in the process of being built so what we really want is
your input. What would you like to see there? What issues are important to
you?
You can see the ETNI elementary opening page at
