A very interesting 2 period unit from PBS

The process is well described, and the students alternatively work as a
group to brainstorm their behaviours and watch the clips, as pairs to
exchange impressions, as groups, with a report to the class, and finally
individually to write their I-message and voice them to the class. The
lesson plan also suggests a game, to make them build up frustration and
observe their behaviour in that situation. The teacher will have to
appreciate if this game is suitable or not for his/her students. Be also
ready for the "and you, Madam/sir, how do you react?", as you see in the
"learning how to express, not explode!" video clip.
I suggest you try the unit with a quiet and cooperative class that you know
well, and then you will be able to decide if you want to try it with a more
difficult class, where it will certainly be more useful....

Film: the Passion of the Christ

This film is said to be scandalous by some, and raises altogether many
questions, especially between Jewish and Christian. To make up your own

Criteria for the Evaluation of Dramatizations of the Passion ( from LIIWEEK

This pamphlet establishes the criteria for evaluating depictions of the
passion of Christ, and tresses the appropriate presentation of passion
plays. It quotes Pope John Paul II's statement that Catholic teaching
should aim to present "Jews and Judaism, not only in an honest and
objective manner ... but also with full awareness of the heritage common
