John Paynel

Two bars and an orle of martlets, not easily distinguished on the seal.

Little is known about John. He served in the Scottish wars.

John does not appear in any of the rolls published so far but William Paynel, died 1317, appears in St George's Roll, E189, where he bears

Thomas Paynel, died 1314, appears in St George's Roll, E203, and The Galloway Roll, GA167, where he bears
