to come : International women's Day on March 8th, Red Nose Day and Comic
Relief on March 14th, and St Patrick's Day on March 17th. The first site is
for advanced students, the second rather for intermediate, and the last for
beginners, although more advanced students can also find interesting
activities to do at their own level. Then discover three sites about
safety, and two of teaching practice, including a surprising lesson done on
the day of MLK's Death and which can still be used today.

Women's history month dans "Time For Kids"

for intermediate pupils, a simple timeline, a quiz with photos, an
interview from a cartoonist at Disney and what children think of female
role models. And you can even add the reactions of your pupils!
For all levels, two cartoons to which you have to add captions. It is a
good and easy way to start a discussion in class, it can also easily be
transferred to a transparent.

St Patrick's Day on March 17th

La Saint Patrick, fête du grand patron de l'Irlande, sera le 17 mars. Pour
les élèves les plus jeunes, en maternelle, primaire et même en collège, des
activités manuelles autour de ce thème permettent de traiter tout à la fois
la civilisation, la dextérité manuelle et l'anglais (avec des directives
simples qui se répèteront tout au long de l'activité et dans des activités
similaires...ce sera bientôt Pâques..;)

there, you can have them make posters to warm other pupils of road dangers
: don't hesitate, this activity is not only for the younger ones, it also

Especially appropriate for industrial technology students, but can also be
useful for those studying work regulation and safety in general, for

Les épreuves ont eu lieu les 11 et 12 février, les résultats devraient
paraître sur Minitel Edutel Plus les 27 ou 28 Mars, et les oraux avoir lieu
au Lycée Hôtelier de Toulouse pendant les vacances de Pâques de cette
académie.
On trouvera sur la Page de notre collègue Jean Sahaï de Guadeloupe un lien
vers les sujets tombés en composition en langue étrangère et en traduction,
ainsi que diverses réactions et commentaires.
Et depuis peu, la Page d'agreg propose aussi un 'Journal Candide' informel

One day in 1968, on the morning after the assassination of Martin Luther
King, Jr., Jane Elliott changed her lesson plan and divided her Iowa
elementary school class into blue and brown-eyed children, for an
experiment that became synonymous with lessons on bigotry and
discrimination for students, parents and communities.
The site from PBS presents the whole TV show with the transcripts, relives
the experiment, features an interview with Elliott, and much more. The
videos made from the actual classroom experiment in 1968 and the present
are extremely powerful!
An impressive, to say the least, collection of multi-media promotes student
investigation, regardless of proficiency level or special needs--the site
features video presentation, with and without transcripts, material for all
kinds of learning, a real treasure trove.
Here is what adds the colleague from Israel who found the site :
"I was impressed (as I usually am with PBS resources on the net) with the
collection of multi-media that would promote student investigation,
regardless of his/her proficiency level or special needs--the site features
video presentation, with and without transcripts, material for all kinds of
learning, a real treasure trove. For those who are having problems with
slow connections, I find that downloading material, and making up a
directory of resources on a local network that students can have access to,
often solves this problem. Or doing a very simply web page with connections
to a local network...OR...well, let your imagination run wild...
(And that--somewhat anti-internet folks--is one of the reasons why the
internet is so great! It would (and does) take an everyday classroom
teacher tons of hours to even do a small amount of multi-sensory
material presentation. A picture is still often worth a thousand
words...and a video? Well....)
