Traunsteinera globosa is a rather slender plant with bright coloured leaves raised along the stem.

It generally grows in full light in mountain pastures. Spike is spherical and includes numerous small pink flowers with three-toothed lip. Sepals and petals show a characteristic spatulate tip.

Flowering season from June to August.
