Each one of these
time lapses
is made
out of a sequence of pictures all taken from a same location.
It is pretty astonishing !

June 2012 - Clouds and stars close to the Tamarin, Maurice
This is the second time lapse I
have realized in the southern hemisphere. The maurician sky is incredibly clear
and pure, without any pollution !
The Milky Way is clearly visible as it is rotating here, and two layers of
clouds are passing towards two different directions. Last, the Morne can be
seen, in the background at the right of the Tamarin.

2011 - The Big Bear passes behind the Dent de
Crolles close to Grenoble, France
This time lapse is a close-up of
the two other ones: the focus is made toward where the Big Bear seems to set
("seems", since it never does in France !) behind the Dent de Crolles.
Mizar, Alcor and all their neighbours make their path behind this big rock
during the night, sometimes being crossed by planes, satellites or shining stars
!

19th August 2011 - Stars turning around the Dent de Crolles close to Grenoble, France
During a weekend up in the moutains, at the feet of the Dent de Crolles, I
thought it was the right time to test a time lapse with plenty of stars !
Luckily the weather has been perfect: not any cloud, no disturbing lights, a
pure sky, and although the Moon was rising rather early, this animation is
really interesting ...

July 2011 - Clouds, stars and the Milky Way turning in the sky close to La
Rochelle, France
After the wide angle night time lapse just below, here comes the fisheye
night time lapse ! And this is a real improvement compared to the former time
lapses ...
After nice clouds at sunset, the second part shows stars and the Milky Way
turning above our heads while the Moon is rising ... Exceptional !!

July 2011 - Clouds and some stars going above close to La Rochelle, France
A nice first time lapse with my brand new Nikon D90 ... The remote and
automatic controller Phottix helps a lot doing such a pretty thing.
Mostly beautiful clouds passing by quickly, and at a moment stars can be seen ! This is a good first attemp to catch the night lights and the beauty of the
Milky Way ...

the Bromo and the Semeru close to Cemoro Lawang in Java, Indonesia
I just stood up at 4 am that morning and went to climb the mount Penanjakan in
the complete dark.
After the sunrise the dramatic landscape of the Tengger caldeira shown up. The
Batok, the Bromo and the erupting Semeru were fantastic.

3rd October 2005 - Annular solar eclipse at Colmenar Viejo, Spain
This is the same eclipse than just under. The difference is this time lapse
is only the central part of it, from the very maximum up to some minutes later
on.
It is incredible how fast the Earth and the Moon go round ...

3rd October 2005 - Annular solar eclipse at Colmenar Viejo, Spain
After one night driving from Bilbao towards the south to find the best
place, I finally stopped at Colmenar Viejo, 30 km at the north of Madrid.
I captured the eclipse with my Canon associated to my 800/200 Newton telescope.
The sky was perfect, cloudless, deep blue, and the annular Sun sat just in its
middle.
Here under lies the time lapse of the whole eclipse ...

25th November 2004 - A
night in Grenoble, France
This time lapse is following the other hereunder. Once I changed the batteries of
the camera, I launched it once more.
Thus it goes from the beginning of the same night up to the early morning of the
day after.
The moves of the clouds, the planets (Venus and Jupiter) and the Sun are so much
impressive when seen that way ...

24th November 2004 -
Second half of a day in Grenoble, France
When I was living in Grenoble the Alps could be seen through one of my window
(as can be seen in my precedent movies).
That is why once I decided to realize an time lapse as long as I could.
In this case the length is limited by the batteries of the camera, since the
capture can last very long because the computer is plugged.
This first time lapse lasts from after midday up to the beginning of the
night. It is really astonishing ... !

Resolution: 640 x 480 |

16th May 2004 - Clouds
above the mountains of Belledonne, France
The first of all my time lapses in Grenoble: middle-long track showing the changes of
the clouds over Belledonne in Grenoble, while the shadows of the buildings move
as fast as the Sun walks in the sky.

11th August 1999 - Total solar eclipse at Sainte-Geneviève, France
My first time lapse ever is made out of scanned pictures originally taken
with the old (silver-based) Minolta SRT 101b of my father and a 200 mm lens.
This has also been my first total solar eclipse, seen under the blue sky of
Normandy. Spectacular !
