The Sandglass Banjo
#39 2012
The neck was made out of cherry wood on a 12in very old vintage pot,
minstrel like, with square nuts.
Gear Pegheds 4:1 with
synthetic gut strings (Savarez KF), calfskin head. On this banjo it was my first try to
French-Polish: it's a pleasure to feel in your hand when playing!
Here the idea was to show a sandglass starting to empty, the sand falling down along the neck. On the heel, as often, a skull is associated with the sandglass to recall of the time which passes.
