Steebz Snake wood Fretless banjo
#49 2016
Here is a very simple fretless banjo I made for Steebz Khuan, a graphic artist and musician from Belgium.
He asked for a very simple instrument without any inlay. How
frustrating it was for me ! So I found my pleasure in selecting beautiful
woods:
The neck is made from bird's eye mapple with a snake wood fingerboard and
head cap. Backstrapping under the head and at the heel are a nice
counterpoint to the front simplicity. The rim is a simple but good English 11in
spunover rim with an heavy tension hoop (which is good for the sound).
Natural calfskin head.
