A precious African hardwood (1.100-1.200 Kg/m3) from Mozambique and Tanzania, Pau Ferro is also used as Palisander or Bubinga.
Heartwood intensely rose-red when freshly cut becoming rosy-brown on exposure. Fine trace figured. Lustrous. Grain irregular and texture fine.
Very durable hardwood, resistant to xylophagous attack. Extremely resistant to impregnation. Glues well, finishes vey well and takes a good varnish and polish.
Pau Ferro is used for furniture, decoration and sculpture. Very appreciated in the Asian markets. We can supply this nice hardwood in log, lumber or flooring.
