PUIMISSON : AVILLAGE OF VINE-GROWERS
With accuracy and true simplicity, Claude Dubois captures
the atmosphere of vine
growing land by giving us a restrained yet vigorous topic in a
Cézanne fashion, and
transmitts this emotion with an even greater strength : through
a direct language .

SIESTA TIME
Summer warm hours closes the dead alley blinds, holding
back no wanderes.
A little touch of spirituality mixed up with gravity fills this
warm shaded open air work.

REVERIE
Discreet musing made of geometrical patterns out of modern
expressionism whose
traits are fondly inscribed in the shape of a female face with
subtle transparencies.

A portrait reestablishing the rights of creative imagination
in free research.
Working with his geometrical little squares, Claude Dubois brings
to life a very elaborate,
expressionist and harmonious composition. This Chapeau de Sophie
( Sophie's Hat ) is
really balanced, indeed !

CLAUDE DUBOIS IN THE MICHELOTTI GALLERY
Through landscapes of Provence South West france.Andalusia
and
and Italy, as well as flowers, bull flights and portraits,Claude
Dubois,whose paintings
are now on display at the Michelotti Gallery, in Marseilles' rue
sainte, shows how
deeply he feels for figurative painting. The accuracy of his drawings
leads
him to observe nature with a particular look : he restores the
image he sees in
splitting it in ever so many little squares. This kind of digitalisation,
"mosaic wise",
in his work ( watercolours and oils ) creates a new and pleasant
mode of
expression that shows the talent of an artist who leans towards
a special pictorial
technique, while being capable, nevertheless, of evolving towards
surrealism
passing though the abstract, thus proving he is able to do so.He
certainly is
worth discovering.
