Infonews n°261 du 04/12/2005

A la Une this week, information and reactions about the new pub times and the drinking binges, together with documents against drinking and drink and drive; then read about Tim Burton's film 'The Nightmare before Christmas' featured on Arte next week and ideas to study Christmas in class. The resources for primary school this week suggest sites about animals, and in the resources for secondary school, find various documents, from death penalty to football and Oliver twist to waste management. At the end of this letter, a call for an international conference.
Have a nice week!

There is also a video game for Xbox based on the film called "Oogie's Revenge" , so your students may well know the story and the characters. It is a Third-Person Action Adventure. Read these reviews, which are not too good for the game, and also seem to say that the film itself is a bit outdated and that this Goth atmosphere is no longer in....

Resources for Primary School

All about Animals

Nelly Vuillemin recommends this site on e-teach to discover animals and their habitat. You click on a habitat ( polar, forest, ocean...) and you access a set of pictures of its inhabitants and for each you have a fact sheet to download. Useful in primary school when you study the theme also in French at the same time, or in lower secondary school to work crosscurricular with the biology teacher.

World World records of the Animal kingdom

Laure Peskine recommends this site to practice superlatives with beginners:
http://www.extremescience.com/creatport.htm

Free worksheets to download

Hélène Cayuela recommends this site where you find ready-to-use material for free. Just choose your topic and download:

Equality elusive for black Americans

Martine Martin has found for you this interesting article to use as a follow up for Rosa Parks story. here is the conclusion of the article : "Whereas race was a major cause of the segregation in the 1950s, today it seems to be economic. The colour barrier now is green - the colour of money."

- les aides dans la conception informatique de ces environnements ;
- les aides en relation avec la spécificité du domaine d’apprentissage, en l'occurrence, le langage ;
- les limites liées au traitement informatique de la langue dans l’analyse des réponses de l’apprenant et donc des rétroactions possibles du système ;
- les spécificités des aides (nature et forme) selon les situations d’apprentissage, les connaissances visées (connaissances déclaratives ou procédurales), les objectifs d’enseignement ou d'apprentissage ;
- l’adaptation des aides aux stratégies spécifiques des apprenants (la pertinence et l’individualisation des aides) ;

Elles doivent contenir :
- le titre de la communication ;
- un résumé dactylographié de 4000 à 6000 signes ;
- une liste de mots-clés
- l’adresse du participant, courriel, numéro de téléphone et mention de son affiliation institutionnelle ;
Maguy Pothier : pothier@lrl.univ-bpclermont.fr
et Anne-Laure Foucher : foucher@lrl.univ-bpclermont.fr
