Cette semaine, j'ai surtout aimé la leçon
supplémentaire d'Instant Lessons
***pour nous remercier de les utiliser et une petite vidéo électorale 'I
like Ike'***. Elle nécessite le chargement et l'installation de Shockwave,
mais le résultat vaut l'effort!
Bonne semaine à tous!

The British Monarchy ( COOL> Cool Web Sightings - Issue #20)
-----------------------------
One of the oldest and continuous monarchies that exist in the world today
it the one in the British Isles. You can trace the history of the Monarchy
from it's beginning, the procedures under which it operates today, and has
operated for over the past 1100 years. There are biographies of the
current family, information on the palaces of the royal family, a special
section on the restoration of Windsor Castle after a near disastrous fire,
and the Royal Collection, one of the finest collections of paintings,
books, furniture, glassware, and, yes, even the crown jewels. There is
also a section with links to other sites that have ties to the monarchy.

indispensable, très visuel, utilisable dès la 6 ème]

This searchable collection "focuses on American
physicists and astronomers of the twentieth century, but
includes many scientists in Europe and elsewhere, in other
fields related to physics, and in earlier times." Also
included are "mini-exhibits" on a number of scientists
including Marie Curie, Enrico Fermi, and Niels Bohr
which feature biographical information and images. There
are currently more than 1500 images (of 25,000) available
online. From the American Institute for Physics. - ew

Los Angeles: Past, Present & Future (LII> [LIIWEEK] March 22)

A wonderfully diverse collection of resources on the city
of Los Angeles and surrounding areas. Although the site
includes information on present day LA and glimpses of the
future, it is particularly good for historic photographs and
images of early Los Angeles. Maintained by the
Information Services Division of the University of
Southern California and dedicated to its original creator
the late Dennis Thomison, a Reference Librarian at USC.
