Ophrys
fuciflora subsp. demangei is intermediate between O. scolopax and O. fuciflora. This species, rather frequent in the departments of north of Provence, has been called for a long time Ophrys pseudoscolopax (J. T. MOGGRIDGE) PAULUS & GACK 1999. However this name, not well defined, could correspond to other entities among the taxa close to Ophrys fuciflora.
Flowers are small and show triangular petals and a globulous labellum that may present a clearer margin. A small portion of the plants sometimes show elongated and trilobate flowers resembling those of O. scolopax . The appendix usually draws a pentagon.
Flowering lasts from April to early June.
