Andrew J. Keller was the Platoon Leader of the 2nd Platoon of
L Company. He was killed during the first German counterattack during the night of the 8-9 August.

Andrew J. Keller était le Platoon Leader du 2nd Platoon, L Company. Il a été tué pendant la première contre-attaque allemande la nuit du 8 au 9 août.

1st Lt Ralph A. Hardee was the Platoon Leader of the 2nd Platoon of K Company. He leaded the attack against Chateaubriand held by German SS. He was killed few yards of the wall surrounding the chateau. For his action he won the DSC.
Sergeant Robert Lee, Light Machine Gun Squad Leader, of the Weapons Platoon, was killed in protecting the west flank of the platoon with a 30 Caliber LMG. He was awarded the Silver Star for his action.
Private First Class Joseph L. Yesecavage, fired the same LMG, after Lee, then Lankford, were killed. He killed several Germans before to be killed. He was awarded the Silver Star.

Le 1st Lt Ralph A. Hardee était le Platoon Leader du 2nd Platoon de la compagnie K. Il emmenait l'attaque contre Chateaubriand tenu par des SS. Il a ete tué quelques mètres avant le mur d'enceinte du château. Pour cette action, il a reçu la DSC (2ème plus haute décoration de l'US Army après la Médaille d'Honneur.
Le Sergeant Robert Lee était le chef d'un squad de mitrailleuse, du Weapons Platoon. Il a ete tué en protégeant le flanc ouest du platoon avec sa mitrailleuse légère de calibre 30. Il fût décoré de la Silver Star (3ème décoration)
Le Private First Class (1ère classe) Joseph L. Yesecavage, servit la même mitrailleuse après que Lee, puis Lankford qui le remplaça, furent tués. Il tua plusieurs Allemands avant d'être tué lui-même. Il reçu la Silver Star pour cette action.
