Henry de Pinkney
The shield and the caparison show a fess lozengy, barely visible in this image.
Little is known about Henry. He inherited lands from his brother, Robert, in 1296.
He fought at the Battle of Falkirk, and appears in The Falkirk Roll, H71 and St George's Roll, E531.
He died in 1302.
In the rolls Henry bears
Or a fess engrailed gules
I have shown the fess indented; the seal has a fess lozengy. In practice, these differences in depicting the blazon were insignificant at this time. It was not until later that matters became more precise.
