Plugging HxC Floppy Emulator on Internal Amstrad CPC Drive
I followed the schemas on this page: http://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/DIY:Floppy_Drives
Unfortunatly I did not have any 26pin connector. So I savagly took a 34pin connetor from a poor old PC drive.
Then I wired following this schema: (taken from above page)
Internal floppy conntector CD201 to standard floppy connector 34pin =================================================================== (flat cable / crimp variant view) Note: Disconnect wire 24-32 /S1 if you use a side selector switch which is connected to the floppy drive. Here is the result:
Connector taken from old PC drive:
Cut a standard IDE ribbon
Connect the 34pin connector in the middle, remove unused pins on side.
Final cable
Also build a small power cable. The 5v on Amstrad is not on same place as standard drive. Need to be swapped.
Amstrad with internal drive connector out
Plug the 34pin connector in the middle. Anyway you can not plug it in another way.
Enjoy drive emulation
