Adbusters Cultural Jammers Headquarters (The KIDS Report -- March 16, 1999)
------------------------------------
Such notorious conditions in advertisement as Joe Camel have attracted
attention to the media, who covered the story for a short time before
heading on to other national events to boost ratings and rake in money.
Adbusters is tired of this; they believe the media is one of the many
corrupt branches of the country that needs to be replaced. Adbusters is the
new-generation of media which is not interested in making money. This
non-profit organization runs its own magazine covering stories they think
are important and that contain what they call "Spoof Ads": advertisements
discouraging the product. For instance, their spoof of the sophisticated
Joe Camel is Joe Chemo, a camel hooked up to an IV and facing his last days
from a tobacco overdose. Adbusters is a nice site, which promotes free
speech and anti-advertising making it a good site to visit if you're
interested in such things or in making a donation to their cause.

Yo Guide to Today's Slang (The KIDS Report -- March 16, 1999)

Looking to brush up on your Ebonics? Have your peers begun talking with
words you've never heard of? Well then, this site is obviously the one to
come to. "Yo Guide to Today's Slang" is literally a compiled dictionary of
almost every single work or phrase used by present-day teenagers. The
user-friendly format guides you through the depths of the site as well, so
you won't get lost. The author of the site is also very enlightened on the
topic of ebonics and slang: who would know better than a teenager? A
head-turning site which is appealing to the eye, "Yo Guide to Today's
Slang" will keep the viewer informed, educated, and above all, entertained.
