Rather small and thickset, Serapias neglecta often grows in tufts forming beautiful natural bunches.

Epichile is particularly well developped, it shows varying red to yellow colours and is covered of whitish hairs at base. Lateral lobes are generally visible as they exceed the hood. There are two lamellas at lip base.

Flowering season goes from March to May.

This species is protected on the whole French territory.
