Robust plant, about 30 cm long, Serapias nurrica bears a rather short spike. Flowers show a characteristic label with two parenthesis-shaped lamellas, lateral lobes are hidden in the hood and the epichile, folded at base, is brick red with a narrow but contrasted grey margin.
This autogamous well-differentiated species is endemic of Corsica and Sardinia. In France, it is protected at the national level.
It blooms in April and May.
