When Flora Devi, the Odissi Indian dancer storyteller meets up with Tuup, the Guyanese musician storyteller, the tale becomes a dance, a mime, a melody ...

Flora Devi and Tuup have found a unique way of fusing two cultures of storytelling into one performance.

Legends of gods, Demons, necromancers, tricksters, talking parrots, rattle snakes and sabre-tooth tigers all come to life through the talking drum, tinkling footbells, exaggerated Indian mime and the explosion of voice and song. The canvas is splashed with colour, mystery and humour.

The unleashed drumming of Tuup shakes Little Monkey in the jungle but it just takes one sublime hand gesture from Flora Devi to carry us off to the Maharaja’s palace where the newlyweds are improvising their vows of fidelity...
