Les 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 21st et 22d Armored Divisions ont été constituées et leurs insignes créés, mais elles n'ont ja mais été activées après la réduction du programme de mobilisation de l'U.S.Army.

The 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 21st, and 22nd Armored Divisions were constituted but never activated, because the mobilization program was reduce, the number of divisions was kept to 16.

1. 1. Les commandants de division ont souvent changé depuis la date d'activation de l'unité jusqu'à la fin de la guerre. Nous ne donnons ici que ceux qui ont commandé pendant la période de combat.

Division Commanders changed often during the war, from activation date to Victory Day. We give here whose commanded during combat period.

2. 2. Classification des divisions : RA, Regular Army ; AUS, Army of the United States (unité sans affectation de mobilisation) ; NG, National Guard.

The classification of units was: RA, Regular Army; AUS, Army of the United States (unit without mobilization duty); NG, National Guard.

3. 3. La date de mouvement est donnée au moment ou la moitié du personnel arrive au port d'embarquement (Palmer, Wiley, Keast, The Procurement and Training of Ground Combat Troops, U.S.Army in WWII).

Date of movement is the date of which the half of the personnel arrived at Port of Embarkation (Palmer, Wiley, Keast, The Procurement and Training of Ground Combat Troops, U.S.Army in WWII).

4. 4. Theater of Operations (théâtre d'opérations) : ETO, European Theater of Operations ; PTO, Pacific Theater of Operations. Certaines des divisions qui ont combattu en ETO, ont commencé leurs opérations en MTO (Mediterranean Theater of Operations : Afrique du nord, Sicile, Italie)

Some divisions fought in MTO before to be transferred to ETO.
