Audio capture
The technological evolution in audio  has been from vinyl discs to audio cassette and now to CD.

The recording on audio cassette allowed to continue the listening of these former  titles.

Today the CD size and especially MP3 format impose us to CD-R MP3's realization.

This evolution became necessary for the obtained audio quality, the perpetuity and the big capacity of the support.

So in term of capacity we have by support:

  • 4 titles for 45 vinyl discs
  • 30 titles on recorded audio cassette
  • 150 - 200 titles on a CD MP3 or the double  with the new MP3PRO

To realize a CD MP3 we shall use the Nero wizard.

So it is necessary to choose: Compile a new CD, Data CD (not Audio CD), Create a new data-CD and Finish.

Using drag&drop, compile the files by clicking on the desired files in the File Browser with the mouse and then dragging them into the compilation window.

Problems met
CD's MP3 with CD-R or CD-RW is perfectly read with the DVD player Toshiba SD-210E. Take care, MP3PRO is not recognized by Toshiba SD-210E.

However it is necessary to take into account following precautions:

  • Files added during a multi-session are not recognized by the DVD player.
  • All files should be in the root (254 maximum according Toshiba, but only 208 according us). With directories only the files in the first directory are recognized by the DVD player.
  • Files copied directly to a CD-RW used as a floppy disk of big capacity (with INCD for example) are not recognized by the DVD player.
  • Files are read in alphabetical order.
  • Le DVD player  does not post played titles, the display is possible on the television but with the first 8 letters only.
